Hello Mary Moore Texans, It is hard to believe that summer is over and another school year has begun. I would like to welcome everyone new and old to an exciting 2008-2009 school year! As I looked at the tremendous crowd of students, parents, teachers and staff at Sneak-a-Peek on Thursday and again today on the first day of school it reminded me what an AWESOME school we have here at Mary Moore Elementary. I am really looking forward to a GREAT year! I would like to invite you to support the PTA by becoming a member. We will kick off our membership drive at the Texan Round-up on Thursday, September 11th. I invite you to come see your Moore family of old and new friends to find out about the exciting activities and fun opportunities available this year. You will also be receiving a membership form in your child’s red Wednesday folder in the next week or so. We are very excited about our fall fundraiser this year, The Boosterthon Fun Run, which kicks off with a pep rally next Tuesday, September 2nd. It was such a huge success last year and an experience that our students, parents, and staff raved about. The actual run will be held on Friday, September 12 th. Keep checking this website and look for monthly calendars and flyers throughout the year that will detail all the special events that happen here at Mary Moore Elementary. Our Parent Teacher Association is a very committed group of people. Our parents allow us to offer our children opportunities that go beyond an excellent education. I hope you will find an area in which to volunteer that suits you. Please know that any time you give is a gift to your child and the school. I have many ideas and goals for us to accomplish over the next two years and I am always looking for more. Please feel free to contact me with any suggestions, concerns or comments.
